In 1880 John Lewis began his business as a second hand dealer. The company grew and in 1910, Barney Joseph, a Polish immigrant, purchased the company. The initial recycling done at Joseph & Company revolved around paper, boxes, glove leather and wool felt from local businesses, but, over the years Joseph & Company would begin to recycle ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In 1943, Isador Norris purchased the company, and within a few years it was turned over to his son Max and Barney Joseph’s sons. In 1986 David Tsarfati entered the business. David's son, Amichai, joined the company in 2004 as the general manager and in 2006, Kenny Norris, David’s nephew joined and is now the operations manager.  Serving the Kitchener/Waterloo region and beyond for over 135 years, local and family involvement has always been a point of pride of the Joseph & Company name and business, we hope to keep providing the utmost service for our customers for many more years to come.
